My life’s directive is offering guidance to those seeking an optimum, vibrant level of health. Should questions regarding plant-based eating arise during your health coaching experience with Lou Ann, I am here to assist in offering education, encouragement and recipes to allow for a seamless and rewarding dietary transition. -Heather C.J. Atkins

Heather’s lifelong respect for our environment and the inhabitants thereof has led her on a path of activism in both animal-welfare and humanitarianism. She is a published author and has become certified in Plant-Based Nutrition through the T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies and Cornell University. Over the years she has come to specialize in assisting “failed” vegans to identify where they made less than favorable turns in their dietary journey, offering a step-by-step protocol to heal and move toward a healthy way of living.

Heather’s first born child, at just two years of age, had been diagnosed with early asthma. This son also had been displaying abnormal neurological behaviors placing him low on the Autism Spectrum. After she and her family chose to wholly commit to a vegan diet and lifestyle in 2013, his health transformed and he is now the picture of physical and cognitive health—a recovery that took place over the course of just a few months. Heather enjoyed a predominately fruit based vegan pregnancy with her vibrantly healthy second child.

Her husband, Darryl, a retired world-class professional athlete also openly advocates this dietary choice. He now performs at an even higher athletic level, with significantly quicker recovery times than what he had been able to achieve during his prime years in his late teens and twenties.

“I wish I had transitioned to the vegan diet during my racing days, I would have had such an advantage. I was so conditioned to believe that meat, dairy and eggs were essential. I now know through personal experience, physiological and epidemiological evidence couldn’t be further from the truth”.

Heather’s personal experience with the regenerative effects of this diet include healing from a host of maladies including: chronic lyme borreliosis and it’s subsequent co-infections, chronic respiratory infections, vaccine induced partial facial paralysis, depression, anxiety and the list goes on. Her dietary recommendations are drawn from a litany of scientific studies and a vast body of evidence-based observational research that irrefutably document the benefits of a whole-foods, vegan diet.

As a contributing author in fitness supermodel Jennifer Nicole Lee’s newest book, Heather offers encouragement for those seeking an optimum level of physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. This collection of motivational stories has been carefully gathered from various individuals who detail their incredibly uplifting life experiences. $5 of every purchase will be donated to San Diego Animal Advocates or Vegan Outreach.
